A fintech startup wants to design an onboarding workflow which provides a great customer experience with minimal time to value for their potential customers looking to open a tier 3 Bank Account.
Problem
Statement
Create a high-fidelity design of an onboarding workflow for the client’s end users for the web and an admin view for the clients to view a downloadable customer’s processed KYC details.
My Design Process

By strategically mapping out each step and interaction, the user flow aims to enhance the overall user experience, ensuring a smooth and intuitive navigation process.
Identity Information
Users were required to provide their BVN (Bank Verification Number) along with one of the following government-issued identification documents: Drivers License, PVC (Permanent Voter Card), Passport, or National ID.
Address
Gathering essential details about the user’s address, this section aimed to complete the overall profile with accurate location information.
Live Photo (Liveness Test):

This includes essential personal data such as name, date of birth, and contact information. Admins ensure accuracy and completeness in this section, as it forms the foundational layer for user profiles within the system.

Identity Information is a crucial aspect for admins as they validate and authenticate the identity of users. Admins carefully scrutinize official identification documents submitted by users to verify the accuracy of the information provided. This step is pivotal in maintaining the security and integrity of the platform.
Address
Address Information is of significance to admins as it establishes the user’s physical location. Admins review and validate the address details provided by users to ensure compliance with regulations and to facilitate effective communication.
Signature
Signatures play a role in the authentication process, and admins verify the submitted signatures against reference samples. Admins ensure the consistency and validity of signatures to enhance security measures. T
Learnings & Outcomes
I learned the significance of prioritizing user needs and preferences. The outcome was a more user-centric experience, enhancing overall satisfaction and usability.
I made sure I refine the identity verification and signature processes in other to reduce drop-offs during onboarding as much as possible
For the admin module, clear indication of verification success or failure streamlined the administrative workflow, enabling quicker decision-making and enhancing overall effectiveness
